Turning ideas into reality, old chairs into chic, one-of-a-kind seating and wood into all sorts of tables, desks and custom furniture.
A passion for design grew out of necessity after I purchased a historic 1913 home and found that my decorating budget had been captured and held hostage by unexpected expenses that included a failing water heater, corroded pipes, rotting electrical wiring — you get the picture.
Down but not out, I quickly realized that if I was going to make a home in this house, I needed to get busy. I read everything I could find on furniture building, dug out the extensive variety of tools that my Dad left me, and through trial and error (and a lot of very late nights) taught myself the basics. Soon I had a gorgeous dining room table with benches and a lot of pride in my work. From there, I was reupholstering old chairs with fabulous designer fabric and painting the turned legs with fun colors.
Meticulous craftsmanship is my aspiration.
